When you eat a 2 Degrees bar, you get more than a food bar. But let’s start with what’s in the package…quinoa, chia, millet, fruits and nuts. Lots of goodness. Vegan. Gluten-free. Never genetically modified. We think it’s a sensational snack. Your stomachs seem to agree.

What else do you get when you buy a 2 Degrees bar? The power to do good. You are empowered to make a critical impact on a child’s life. That impact is fundamental…food. For every bar you buy, a meal is given to a hungry child.

In May, we delivered 11,160 more …

by Max Mershon, 2 Degrees Campus Director | University of Illinois

In my free time when I’m not doing school work or participating in extracurricular activities, I enjoy watching TEDTalks for fun and inspiration. For those of you who aren’t familiar with TED, it is a non-profit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading.” TED.com hosts videos of some of the brightest minds and most inspirational thinkers speaking at various TED conferences around the world.

Intelligent Giving

The one-for-one movement is changing the world we live in. Can’t you feel the trend picking up steam as more and more companies embrace giving? Have you heard of WeWood timepieces? For every 100% wood watch you buy, they plant a tree. Sport a natural look while supporting sustainable forestry. We think that’s pretty cool.

Giving is important. However, the way you give is also critical.

Giving is best done where there is true need. A one-for-one food company needs to donate meals in countries with substantial chronic hunger or malnutrition. That’s why we work in countries that suffer …

Mother’s Day is just around the corner! We at 2 Degrees are celebrating the hard work that mothers do around the globe to care for their children. Indeed, everyone alive today has a mother to thank for being here.

All mothers want to see their children healthy and happy. Yet some mothers have inadequate resources to provide for their children. It is these mothers especially that we want to recognize on this holiday.

What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to give a helping hand to a mother in need?

As the world’s first one for one food company …

IS GOOD • DOES GOOD

Ghandi had it right when he said, “the future depends on what we do in the present.” The world’s biggest problems can feel unsolvable and hopeless. What matters is that we tackle these difficult issues — today and everyday. Through unbreakable persistence we can — and will — shape a better future. This optimism is the guiding principle of 2 Degrees.

Let us pose a question. If we offered you a healthy snack of equal quality to the one you currently purchase — and this snack also fights childhood hunger — would you switch? We have found that the resounding …

Chocolate comes from the pod of the cocoa tree. It’s a plant and entirely vegan. However, most chocolate you find in the grocery store isn’t pure cocoa…so it may or may not be vegan depending on the other ingredients.

Let’s dig a little deeper.

Milk chocolate will never be vegan for the obvious reason that milk is an animal product. However, chocolate products will often contain dairy and not be labeled as milk chocolate. Check the label for additives such as milk, milk solids or milk fat. If they are present, the product is not vegan.

Don’t be fooled by …
